In this very personal film, Imogen Cunningham presents more than 250 of her photographs during archival interviews recorded by her son Rondal Partridge. The inspiration of this film was based on the discovery of these eight hours of audiotapes, found by Meg Partridge in her father's photo workroom. 

Portrait of Imogen was directed by Meg Partridge and edited by Claude Ibrahimoff. Released in 1988, it was nominated for an Academy Award in the documentary category.
